Alison PalkhivalaAlison has more than ten years' experience in medical writing, editing, and interviewing for the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries in Canada, the US, and the UK. She is skilled in absorbing, integrating, and communicating medical and technical information. Her experience includes researching and writing news stories for physician and lay audiences as well as writing and editing reports, presentations, webcasts, educational tools, training manuals, and company guidelines. She has trained and supervised staff, interviewed healthcare professionals, and consulted with consumers and volunteers. Alison is highly organized and self-motivated; she puts her clients' requirements and schedules first. BackgroundAlison attended McGill University in Montreal on a James McGill Scholarship. She studied psychology and neuroscience and graduated with First Class Honors. Having earned a government scholarship, she attended graduate school in clinical psychology at Concordia University in Montreal. During her employment at Chapter Three Marketing Research Services, a healthcare industry information consultancy, Alison wrote reports and presentations about market research carried out for pharmaceutical executives. She interviewed health care professionals, analyzed qualitative data, and trained other staff. She quickly moved from full-time writer at Chapter Three to manager of the writing/qualitative analysis department. Since leaving Chapter Three for AFP Wordlink, Alison has worked for a variety of clients. She is also active in several writers' organizatons.
